Aimé Van Belleghem
1922-1996

Aimé Van Belleghem was born in 1922 in Beerrnem, Belgium to the landscape painter Jos Van Belleghem. He was a self-taught painter of portraits, figures and surrealist compositions. In 1964 the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Charloi gave Van Belleghem a retrospective and in 1966 the State acquired her entire oeuvre.

Van Belleghem died in Bruges in 1996. He is listed in several major encyclopedias of Belgian artists.
