Clemens Spengler (1904-1968) German Expressionist. Born in Munich in 1903 and died in Aying, a suburb to Munich in 1968. He was a pupil of the German Art nouveau master Richard Riemerschmid (1868-1957) and German modernist Karl Caspar (1879-1956) He worked and travelled in Paris during the years 1926 and 1929. Worked with graphic design during the 1930ties and did poster layouts for the artist ball and the Deutsches Theater in Munich. Worked with glass art and church windows for the Mayerschen Hofkunstanstalt Royal school. Did several illustrations for various German publications like The Art Nouveau art magazine “ The Jugend” and “ Dutsche Frauenztg” |
