Colette Debat-Ponsan was the daughter of Édouard Debat-Ponson, a well-recognized artist of the late 19th century.

There is little known about Colette; she exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries beginning in 1934. Her paintings are modern with a sense of cubism; she painted nudes and sensual female figures.
