Born c.1885 Svendsen was active 1911-1925. Displaying the influences of Edvard Munch and the Fauves, Svendsen exhibited in 1912, 1915 (this exhibition also featured eleven works by Edvard Munch), 1916, 1924 and 1925 at the annual Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling (K.E.) juried shows held at Kunsthal Charlot in Kongens Nytorv, Copenhagen (1912, 1914) and the Free Exhibition Building in Copenhagen (1915, 1924, 1925) this paintiing was exhibited: 1912, Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling (annual Autumn exhibition), Kunsthal Charlot (Charlottenborg), Copenhagen, Cat #278
