Georges Petit
1879-1959

Georges Petit was born in Lille, France in 1879 to Belgian parents.

Primarily a painter and sculptor, Petit experimented with various mediums and subject matter.  He studied at l’Acédemie de Liege and later taught as a professor there from 1919 to 1944. He also studied in Louvain, Paris, and Brussels.  From 1906 to 1912 he studied in Rome, Italy.  Petit was a prolific artist and produced numerous portraits, landscapes, and allegorical compositions.
