.Linder began painting in Chicago during the early 1900’s and was living in New York City by 1920.

He was a Salmagundi Club member who worked in New York City and Detroit, Michigan; exhibited at the National Academy of Design, and the Knoedler Gallery in NYC in 1920, 1926 and 1942.

He is famous for his remarkable oil portraits of Henry Ford and the Ford family. His Henry Ford portrait hangs today in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan along with nine additional Ford family portraits including Mrs. Henry Ford, Edsel Ford, etc.
