Born 1948

Tamayo was born in Carchi Ecuador.

Jorge Tamayo attended the Escula de Bellas Arts in Quito, Ecuador. He has been a citizen of Costa Rica for more than 30 years, and he lives in San Jose.


He has had 23 individual and 107 collective exhbitions throughout Central and South America. He has won five first place awards.


The majority of his work focuses on the nude. His work reflects the symbolic magic of ancestral painting manifested in modern models.
