In 1931 Miklós Komlós and István Komlós founded a small Ceramic Workshop in Nyíregyháza.
They designed and produced Ceramic sculptures and became well-known in Hungary.
Komlos chose their topics from the funny scenes of civil and peasant life mostly. Elegant gentlemen, ladies, Afro-American musicians, sweet animals and child figures were also produced.
Komlós Ceramics are very well designed and have bright, fresh colors that make them easily recognizable.
In 1934 the brothers opened their second workshop in Budapest (VII. Hársfa street 7.). They used a new mark on their Ceramics: “Komlós testvérek Budapest” (Komlós Brothers Budapest). |
