Paul Mirat
1885-1966

Paul Mirat was born 1885 in Pau. He was best known as a painter, draughtsman and illustrator.


Mirat traveled to Mexico and London to work as a fashion designer before settling in Pau.

In 1917 he was appointed as instructor to American troops and also published caricatures and drawings of American life in the Slatter Times. Mirat also illustrated Froissart’s Chronicles.


In 1988 an exhibit of his work was held at the Pau Castle.

Paul Mirat died in 1966.
