Myron Chester Nutting

1890-1972

Nutting was a mualist, painter. Born in Panaca, NV on Oct. 18, 1890.

Nutting studied at the Boston Museum Fine Arts School, ASL in NYC, and in Paris at Académie Julian under André Lhote and the University of Paris under Maurice Denis.

He was an instructor at the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee and, after moving to Los Angeles in the 1930s, at the Chouinard Art School. In the 1940s he wrote reviews for Script magazine.

During the 1950s he lived in Dallas, TX and by the 1960s had returned to Los Angeles where he remained until his death on April 3, 1972.
