ALBERT JOSEPH PENOT
Born 1870

Albert Joseph Penot was born in 1870 in Xermamenil, France. He was a student of Gaberiel Ferrier.

Penot exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais, in 1903 he won an honorable mention, and a third place medal in 1908.

Penot was an academic painter in the grand tradition of the French Academy, but his subjects transcended that tradition. He painted vivacious women in opulent interiors, perfect subjects for the French taste at the beginning of the 20th Century.
